Puppy Available!

My friend, Carrie, has a young puppy - the result of an unplanned get together of her daughter-in-law's female and one of hers. She wants to place him in a loving, responsible home. He will have to be neutered when he gets older.

She brought him over today and I took several photos of him around my dogs. He was slightly worried at first, but soon warmed up and had a great time playing with my two youngest.

A moment of rest...

This pup was born June 22, so he's not quite 4 mos old yet. He will be on the small side, probably no more than 24-25 inches at the shoulder. He has a lovely, show quality ridge, is a nicely angulated pup and moves nicely.

If you can offer a great home, email me and tell me about yourself, your home, your family and why you'd provide a great home.

Snapshots of My Younger Ones

Both Guy and Magic had gotten mysterious scrapes and gouges on them a month or so ago. I finally figured out that it was from a broken branch in the Leyland Cypress tree they love to run around. I got my trusty lopers and cut that thing off. You can see the scar it's left on Guy's shoulder.

Magic always looks like he's so happy! I guess he is, he loves to go for a walk in the morning and evening so they can play and have a great time.

Prize strikes a pose... she looks good when that curly tail isn't up over her back! Nice long neck, square stance, nice angles, good fill in the brisket...

Magic really has relaxation down to an art.....and this is the way he likes to sleep. I've come into the room in the middle of the night and there's Magic - on his back, sprawled out and snoozing away.

It must be in the genes.... big brother, Guy, likes to sleep on his back, too.

Desperate Times

You may have arrived here looking for a puppy - You are in luck! No, we don't have puppies, but we know that Etosha RR Rescue in Sequin, TX has 47 Ridgebacks, including these pictured below, who are looking for a great home - like yours!
All these dogs are of various ages, including young puppies - like Tex ( what a handsome guy!) and the adorable Meg. They may not be on the website, but when you go there and fill out an application, you can mention any of the dogs you see here.
Bonnie Williams, the angel in charge, also has a pen full of pups like these guys who are in need of loving homes. Just mention the "mini-mill" pups and she'll know the ones you are interested in.

You may also be interested in an older pup like Diva, or a junior dog like the gorgeous Boomer. Just go to Etosha Rescue , select the Adoption form link, fill it out, have a look around the site, too and they'll get back to you.

If you can't provide a home right now, please consider a donation to help Etosha feed, house and pay the veterinary bills for some dogs. No donation is too small! You'll find out how to do that on their site at http://www.etosha-rescue.org....and it's tax deductible!

Angus, Maddie and Catherine Come To Visit

Angus, the singleton puppy, and his family of Catherine and Maddie came by to visit this afternoon. Angus and Magic fell in love....they just couldn't get enough of running and playing.

Tongues were lolling out, but they just couldn't stop having fun... (Angus in front, Magic bringing up the rear.)

They look like they are doing some weird doggy ballet in this side shot..

In this shot (below), Diva (Grandmother of Angus) on the left, then Angus - he grew to be a BIG boy - and Magic ( 10 months)

It was a fun visit for all. After the good run, they came inside and found chew bones and had a different kind of fun. Catherine, Angus (L), Maddie (R) pose before they left .

Nine Month Update

The "terrible two" are FINALLY starting to calm down, still plenty of energy, but slowly becoming older "teens" and less petulant preteens. Here's Prize on the left and Magic on the right in a quite moment.

Prize looks like she's "stalking" me, but she's actually watching Guy.... ready to pounce on him. Mr Magic in the back awaiting her signal to "go".

Guy (L) and Prize. This is the way Prize eats her pear that she gets off the tree. Most of the dogs get theirs and lay down and enjoy..... she has this strange "butt-in-air-elbows-on-the-ground" style.

Opposites?

Magic was walking across the yard looking like he had somewhere important to go..

....but he was only changing spots to sit.... he has this funny lopsided sit....

......which is just the opposite of his sister, Prize.... and her lopsided sit.

Daily Puppy Life

Today is the 6 month birthday of Prize and Magic. They celebrated as only two happy go lucky pups can do:

First, they charged up by joining Guy and Darla at the blueberry bushes....the still GREEN blueberries....apparently the berries are tasty to them, even this early in the season.

Here's Magic at the gate waiting for the rest of the gang to arrive and start rough housing....

Waltzing??? No, Prize and Magic playing as only RRs can do...

That done, Magic and Guy get a case of the zoomies.... Guy runs full tilt around the yard and Magic tries hard to keep up...

This way.........

.....and that way......

What a birthday!
